What materials are used in Bohemian Rainbow pads and liners?

Bohemian Rainbow pads are made using only the best quality fabrics to ensure ultimate comfort and durability.Top fabrics (those that touch your skin)are organic bamboo velour, quality cotton print fabrics and flannel fabrics. The internal channeled booster is made from bamboo fleece which is incredibly absorbent, this is attached to a body layer of flannel for stability and to keep the top of the pad free from irritating sewing stitches.A full body layer of PUL (waterproofing) is used to keep your pad leakproof.PUL is a  fabric that still allows air to go through the fibres, making the entire pad 'breathable'.

Do you only do customs or are there in stock items as well?

We only do custom orders. This allows you to choose your own fabrics, colours and which size pads you would like.I do keep a store that keeps instocks at The Cloth Pad Shop:

Re-usable versus Disposable
Here are many of the pros to using re usable menstrual products: Cheaper in the long term Far more comfortable Natural materials Many woman report shorter periods More absorbent Far better for the environment than disposable products which end up in landfill. And don't forget they are far more funky!!!

OK you've nearly convinced me how do I wash them?
Re usable menstrual pads are no way near as difficult to use and wash as people would think.Place the used pad in a shallow lidded bucket(or ideally a jar) of cold water. When you are ready to wash pour the water into the toilet and wash your pads on a cold or warm cycle and line dry. That's it.Easy yes?The sun will naturally sanitise your pads so there is no need for any soaking or bleaching agents.

Help,I'm unsure of which size to choose.

If you are new to cloth pads and unsure what size would suit you best it helps to look at what size disposable products you are currently using.

Do you use the same size and absorbancy pad throughout you period?

If you are currently using a regular disposable pad throughout your period, our regular pads will most certainly be the right size pad for you, absorbent enough to handle the heavier flow of the first few days of your cycle and overnight these pads are a good size to suit all these needs.

When you flow lessens towards the end of your cycle and you find you might not need the protection of a pad anymore our light size liners are perfect for these days.If you have a heavier flow throughout you periods heavy pads are longer and have an extra layer of absorbancy to suit you,you can graduate down sizes to suit the changing flow of your cycle, these are also great for overnight use if you find you need more protection during the night..Also if you experience a very light flow our light range of pads/liners are suitable throughout your entire period. We also have a Super pad which has been designed for an extremely heavy flow.

Do you need a different size pad for overnight use or during the first few heavier flow days?

Most women experience a heavier period in the first few days of their cycle and during the night. If you find your regular disposable(or cloth)pad isn't absorbent and long enough during these times our heavy pads have been specially designed for these times. If you find your flow is extremely heavy during those first days and overnight we have designed Super pads for those needs, these incredibly absorbent pads also have a very long length to keep you protected.

If you are still unsure about which pad is right for you, please feel free to contact me and I can help you find the right pad to suit your needs.

How do I use cloth pads when I'm out or at work,is it difficult?

No,not at all, actually not too much different than a disposable product, except you don't have to deal with overstuffed, smelly sani bins.Take your used pad off and fold the top edges in (as shown in the picture below) snap your pad together and put your used pad into a wetbag, cosmetic bag etc and it's ready to take home for washing. With your pad folded this way there are no leaks or mess to worry about and also unlike disposable pads,no smell to worry about.
